DECLARING THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 1953, A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCE OF ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR.

WHEREAS, the first anniversary of the
organization of the Province of Zamboanga del Sur falls on September 17, 1953;

WHEREAS, the people of said province desire to be
afforded full opportunity to celebrate the event with appropriate ceremonies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Elpidio Quirino, President of
the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by section, 30 of the
Revised Administrative Code, do hereby proclaim Thursday, September 17, 1953,
as a special public holiday in the Province of Zamboanga del Sur.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand
and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 11th day, of
September, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and fifty-three, and of
the Independence of the Philippines, the eighth.
