PROCLAMATION NO. 407, September 02, 1953

DECLARING THE FIFTEENTH DAY OF SEPTEMBER OF EVERY YEAR AS PHILIPPINE MEDICINE DAY.

Presidential Proclamations September 2, 1953



WHEREAS, national progress and prosperity depend
to a large extent upon a healthy citizenry; and

WHEREAS, to produce a healthy citizenry, it is
necessary that the masses realize the importance of availing of the services of
the medical profession, the mission of which is to safeguard, maintain and
promote the health of the people;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Elpidio Quirino, President of
the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby
proclaim the fifteenth day of September of every year as the Philippine
Medicine Day.

IN WITNESS whereof, I have hereunto set my hand
and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in Honolulu, Hawaii (for Manila,
Philippines), this 2nd day of September, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen
hundred and fifty-three, and of the Independence of the Philippines, the
eighth.
