“If petitioners forfeited the appeal by indifference to rules of procedure, neither can certiorari serve as a substitute for a lost appeal.”
And to reiterate, While We express desolation over petitioners’ predicament, rejection of their recourse before the Court was dictated by jurisprudential precepts which magistrates and advocates were bound to follow.
ACCORDINGLY, We hereby DENY petitioners’ Motion for Reconsideration from the assailed Resolution of January 21, 2014.
