PROCLAIMING THE POPULATION OF THE PHILIPPINES AS OF CENSUS DAY, OCTOBER 1, 1948

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 1 of
Republic Act No. 36, as amended by Republic Act No. 202, I, Elpidio Quirino,
President of the Philippines, do hereby proclaim the population of the
Philippines on Census Day, October 1, 1948, as Nineteen million, two hundred
thirty-four thousand, one hundred eighty-two (19,234,182), distributed
according to provinces, cities, municipalities and municipal districts, as
submitted by the Bureau of the1 Census and Statistics.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand
and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 31st day of
December, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and forty-eighth, and of
the Independence of the Philippines, the third.
