This is a Petition for Certiorari filed by petitioners Mel V. Velarde and Angeline L. Macasaet seeking to annul and set aside the Review Resolution dated 02 May 2011 of respondent Department of Justice (DOJ) which recommended that petitioners be charged with tax evasion under Section 254 of the National Internal Revenue Code, and the Resolution dated 26 August 2011 of respondent DOJ denying petitioners’ Motion for Reconsideration thereof.
Pursuant to this Court’s Resolution dated 19 June 2013, petitioners filed an Amended Petition for Certiorari[1] dated 12 July 2013 indicating their actual addresses therein.
On 14 January 2014, petitioners filed a Manifestation with Motion to Withdraw[2], stating that, after re-evaluating the issues and re-examining their legal options, they have decided not to pursue the instant petition for certiorari.
WHEREFORE, finding the Motion to Withdraw to be in order, the same is GRANTED. The instant petition is deemed WITHDRAWN, and this case declared CLOSED and TERMINATED.
