PRESCRIBING QUALIFICATIONS IN THE SELECTION OF TRAINEES TO BE CALLED FOR MILITARY TRAINING.

Presidential Proclamations May 26, 1951



Upon the recommendation of the Secretary of
National Defense and pursuant to the provision of section 55 of the National
Defense Act (Commonwealth Act No. 1), Elpidio Quirino, President of the
Philippines, do hereby require that eligibility for trainee instruction for any
period beginning with the year nineteen hundred and fifty-one be limited to
those registrants who are able-bodied; free from disease, of good moral
character and habits, of average intelligence and who have finished the
intermediate course of instruction in any school of recognized standing. In the
fulfillment of this requirement, the drawing provided for in section 56 of the
National Defense Act shall continue until the desired quota for trainee
instruction in any particular calendar year is filled.

In witness, whereof, I have hereunto set my hand
and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 26th day of May,
in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and fifty-one, and of the
Independence of the Philippines, the fifth.
