SUSPENDING WORK IN GOVERNMENT OFFICES AND CLASSES AT ALL LEVELS IN ILOCOS NORTE AND ILOCOS SUR ON 23 SEPTEMBER 2025

Memorandum Circulars September 22, 2025

Upon the recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, and in view of the forecasted heavy rainfall that will be brought about by the Super Typhoon “Nando”, work in government offices and classes at all levels in Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur are hereby suspended on 23 September 2025. Further, classes at all levels in Abra, Apayao, Batanes, Benguet, Cagayan and La Union are also suspended on 23 September 2025 to ensure public safety.

However, agencies responsible for basic, vital and health services, preparedness and response duties must continue to remain operational to ensure continuity of essential government functions. Non-vital government employees of subject agencies and all other government employees may be engaged under approves alternate work arrangements, subject to applicable laws, rules and regulations.

Further thereto, the localized cancellation or suspension of classes and/or work in government offices in other regions may be implemented by their respective Local Chief Executives, pursuant to relevant laws, rules and regulations.

The suspension of work in private companies and offices is left to the discretion of their respective heads.

This Circular shall take effect immediately.
