Be it ordained by the City Council of Manila, in session assembled, THAT:

SECTION 1. Amendment. – The title of Ordinance No. 8420 is hereby amended, which shall read as follows:

“AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MAYOR TO CAUSE AQUISITION EITHER BY NEGOTIATION, EXPROPRIATION OR OTHER LEGAL MEANS OF THOSE CERTAIN PARCELS OF LAND COVERED BY TRANSFER CERTIFICATE OF TITLE NOS. 261932, 61189, 61199 AND THE PARCEL OF LAND DESCRIBED AS LOT NO. 40, BLOCK NO. RP 46 WITH A TOTAL LAND AREA OF ONE THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED NINETY-THREE SQUARE METERS (1,793 SQ. M.), UNDER THE NAMES OF RAFAEL ROCES PRIETO MARRIED TO NANCY HOWELL, ALEGAR CORPORATION AND LEGARDA ALEJANDRO RESPECTIVELY, LOCATED AT SAMPALOC, MANILA, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.”

SEC. 2 Section 1 of Ordinance No. 8420, is hereby amended, which shall read as follows:

“SECTION 1. The acquisition either by negotiation expropriation or by other legal means of those certain parcels of land with a total land area of One Thousand Seven Hundred Ninety-Three Square Meter (1,793 Sq. M.), located at Sampaloc, Manila, to wit:

Is hereby authorized pursuant to Section 19 of Republic Act 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991 and the Land-for-the-Landless Program of the City of Manila.”

SEC. 3. Separability Clause.– If any part or provision of this Ordinance is held or declaed invalid or inconstitutional, the orher provisions not affected thereby shall remain in full force and effect.

SEC. 4. Repealing Clause.– All other local laws, decrees, orders, issuances, rules and regulations which are inconsistent with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed, amended or modified accordingly.

SEC. 5. Effectivity Clause.– This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its approval.

This Ordinance was finally enacted by the City Council of Manila on February 23, 2016.
