PROCLAMATION NO. 277, September 24, 1951
CALLING FOR A SPECIAL ELECTION TO FILL AN EXISTING VACANCY IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
WHEREAS, the Speaker of the House of
Representatives has certified that a vacancy exists in the second
representative district of the Province of Rizal;
NOW, THEREFORE, by virtue of the authority
conferred upon me by section 20 of Republic Act No. 180, known as the Revised
Election Code, I, Elpidio Quirino, President of the Philippines, hereby issue
this proclamation and call a special election in the second representative;
district of the Province of Rizal to take place on Tuesday, the
thirteenth day of November, nineteen hundred and fifty-one, to coincide with
the general elections for provincial and municipal officials and for eight
senators, for the purpose of electing the member who is to fill the unexpired
portion of the term of the existing vacancy in the House of Representatives
corresponding to said province.
The provisions of the Revised Election Code
insofar as they are applicable shall be followed in the conduct of the special
election herein called.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand
and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
