CREATION OF THE STEERING COMMITTEE FOR THE UPDATING OF THE PHILIPPINE ENERGY PLAN FOR 1993-2002

In pursuit of Section 5.b of R.A. 7638 which requires the Department of Energy to submit to Congress an updated Philippine Energy Program within nine (9) months from the effectivity of the Act, the Steering Committee for the updating of the Philippine Energy Plan is hereby constituted.

The Steering Committee shall provide the general policy and overall guidance in the updating of the Plan.  The composition of the Committee is as follows:

Chairman
Undersecretary, DOE

Vice Chairman
President, NPC
–
Member
President, PNOC
–
Member
Administrator, NEA
–
Member

Heads of agencies with implementation and/or oversight functions related to energy sector policies, particularly the ERB Chairman, and the Secretaries of DOF and NEDA shall be invited to the Committee meetings as deemed necessary.  Likewise, the respective chairmen of the Senate and House Committee on Energy shall be consulted and invited to sit as honorary members of the Committee.

The tentative schedule of activities* for the updating of the Plan is annexed to this Order as reference.

This Memorandum Order shall take effect immediately.
