DECLARING AS OFFICIAL THE 2024 POPULATION COUNT OF THE PHILIPPINES BY PROVINCE, CITY/MUNICIPALITY, AND BARANGAY BASED ON THE 2024 CENSUS OF POPULATION CONDUCTED BY THE PHILIPPIN…

 WHEREAS, Republic Act (RA) No. 10625 or the “Philippine Statistical Act of 2013” provides that the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) shall be primarily responsible for all national censuses and surveys, sectoral statistics, consolidation of selected administrative recording systems, and compilation of national accounts;

WHEREAS, Section 6(b) of RA No.10625 mandates the PSA to prepare and conduct periodic censuses on population, housing, agriculture, fisheries, business, industry, and other sectors of the economy;

WHEREAS, Proclamation No.627 (s.2024) declared the month of July 2024 as the “National Census and Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Month;”

WHEREAS, the 2024 Census of Population (POPCEN) and CBMS were conducted by the PSA from July to September 2024, with 1 July 2024 as reference date;

WHEREAS, Executive Order No.87 (s.2025 directs the conduct of a mid-decade census primarily to update the population count in all barangays nationwide; and

WHEREAS, Section 8 of Batas Pambansa Blg.72 (s.1980) provides that the final population count as determined from the processed census returns shall be considered official for all purposes only upon proclamation by the President;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND R. MARCOS, JR. President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution and existing laws, do hereby declare as official for all purposes the results of the 2024 POPCEN, placing the total population of the Philippines as of 1 July 2024 at 112,729,484, as shown in the “2024 Census of Population by Province, City/Municipality, and Barangay,” attached hereto and made integral part hereof.

The PSA, in coordination with the Presidential Communications Office, is hereby directed to disseminate copies of the 2024 Census of Population: Population by Province, City/Municipality, and Barangay to all concerned government agencies and offices.
