PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 1927, May 31, 1984

MAKING UNIFORM THE GRANT OF LONGEVITY PAY TO MEMBERS OF THE JUDICIARY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

Presidential Decrees May 31, 1984



WHEREAS, Batas Pambansa Blg. 129 gives all Justices and
judges a monthly longevity pay with the exception of the Chief Justice and
Associate Justices of the Supreme Court, the Presiding Justice and Associate
Justices of the Sandiganbayan, and the Presiding Judge and Associate Judges of
the Court of Tax Appeals; and

WHEREAS, it is only fair and just to remove the inequality
by granting the same monthly longevity pay to the Chief Justice and Associate
Justices of the Supreme Court, including the other officials thereof given by
law the rank, salary and privileges of members of the judiciary, as well as the
Justices and Judges of the Sandiganbayan and the Court of Tax Appeals;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the
Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the
Constitution, do hereby decree:

SECTION 1. The Chief Justice and Associate Justices of the
Supreme Court, including the other officials thereof given by law the rank,
salary and privileges of members of the judiciary, as well as the Justices and
Judges of the Sandiganbayan and the Court of Tax Appeals shall be entitled to
the monthly longevity pay provided for in Section 42 of Batas Pambansa Blg. one
hundred twenty-nine.

SEC. 2. The provisions of this Decree shall be implemented
at the same time, in the same manner and to the same extent as the original
provisions of Section 42 of Batas Pambansa Blg. 129.
