PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 1742, November 11, 1980

GRANTING CERTAIN TAX AND CUSTOMS BENEFITS TO THE PROJECT: GINTONG ALAY.

Presidential Decrees November 11, 1980



WHEREAS, the Project: Gintong Alay which was created
pursuant to Letter of Instructions No. 955 has been given expanded objective per
Letter of Instructions No. 1022-A, tasking it for the training of Philippine
athletes for international competitions;

WHEREAS, their project requires sufficient funds, materials
and resources;

WHEREAS, almost all the equipment and materials required by the Project:
Gintong Alay are obtainable only by importation;

WHEREAS, Government assistance on this direction is deemed
necessary and imperative;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the
Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby
decree and order:

SECTION 1. The Project: Gintong Alay may import sports
equipment, materials and other supplies as may be required for the attainment of
its objectives from its appropriations, contributions or other sources.

Such importations shall be fully exempted from customs duties, levies,
charges or taxes of any kind.

SEC. 2. All laws, decrees, orders, rules and regulations
inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed, amended or modified accordingly.

SEC. 3. This Decree shall take effect immediately.

Done in the City of Manila, this 11th day of November, in the year of Our
Lord, nineteen hundred and eighty.
