AMENDING REPUBLIC ACT NUMBERED THREE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED FORTY-SEVEN, ENTITLED “AN ACT TO REGULATE PAYMENT OF EXPENSES OF GOVERNMENT OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES WHEN ON OFFICIAL T…
amended to read as follows:
“SECTION 1. When an officer or employee is required to
travel on official business outside of his permanent official station,
he shall be entitled to per diems to cover his board and lodging which
shall be fixed on the basis of salary and in accordance with the rules
and regulations promulgated by the Commissioner on Audit to implement
this Decree: Provided, That such per diems shall not be below
the minimum nor above the maximum as fixed herein:
Minimum MaximumGreater Manila Area (Manila, Quezon City, Caloocan City,
Pasay City, Makati, Mandaluyong, San Juan, Pasig, Parañaque, Marikina),
Baguio City, Tagaytay City, Bacolod, Iloilo, Davao, Cebu and other first
class cities P30 P35Other Chartered Cities 25 30Places other than Cities 20 25“Provided, further, That he shall be entitled to
transportation expenses in going to and coming back from his destination
and to a daily allowance while in the field at the rate of P10.00 a day
in chartered cities and P5.00 in all other places to cover his
incidental transportation and other expenses: Provided, finally,
That the Department Head may authorize the granting of representation
expenses, if necessary, subject to existing rules and regulations for
this purpose.”
SEC. 2. This Decree shall take effect immediately.
Done in the City of Manila, this 26th day of November, in the year of
Our Lord, nineteen hundred and seventy-three.

In order to facilitate the implementation of Presidential
Decree No. 344, the Commission on Audit issued General Circular No. 127,
dated November 26, 1973, regulating the payment of expenses incurred by
government officials when on official travel within the Philippines.
