AMENDMENT TO SECTION 19, ARTICLE V OF RESOLUTION NO. 02-04, AS AMENDED BY RESOLUTION NO. 03-11, OF THE BOARD OF MARINE DECK OFFICERS (RE: REVISED RULES AND REGULATIONS IMPLEMENT…
WHEREFORE. the Board resolved, as it hereby resolves, to further amend Section 19, Article V of Board Resolution No. 02-04, the Implementing Rules and Regulations of R.A. No. 8544, as amended by Board Resolution No. 03-11, to conform the scope of the Licensure examinations to the Functions under the STCW Code of the 1978 STCW Convention, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 19, Article V of Board Resolution No. 02-04, the Implementing Rules and Regulations of R.A. No. 8544, as amended by Board Resolution No. 03-11, is hereby further amended to read as follows:
“Section 19. Scope of Licensure Examinations – The scope of the written/walk-in licensure examination for both the Management and Operational levels of responsibilities, are as follows:
.1 WRITTEN/ WALK-IN EXAMINATION
(1) Function 1 – Navigation
(2) Function 2 – Cargo Handling and Stowage
(3) Function 3 – Controlling the Operation of the Ship and Care for Persons on Boardx x x.”
SECTION 2. Effectivity – This amendment shall take effect immediately.
This Resolution amends Section 19, Article V of Board Resolution No. 02-04, the Implementing Rules and Regulations fo R.A. No. 8544, as amended by Board Resolution No. 03-11, and supersedes any previous issuance to the contrary.
Let a copy of this Resolution be furnished the U.P. Law Center and published in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of nationwide circulation.
