PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 297, September 19, 1973

APPROPRIATING THE AMOUNT OF FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND PESOS FOR THE OPERATION OF THE TASK FORCE ON HUMAN SETTLEMENTS.

WHEREAS, under Executive Order No. 419, dated September 19,
1973, a Task Force on Human Settlements was created to conduct a study on the
nature, policy issues and strategies related to a comprehensive and integrative
human settlement program in this country; and

WHEREAS, there is a need to appropriate the necessary amount
to carry out the purposes and objectives of the Task Force on Human
Settlements;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the
Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution as
Commander-in-Chief of all the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and pursuant to
Proclamation No. 1081, dated September 21, 1972, and General Order No. 1, dated
September 22, 1972, do hereby order and decree:

SECTION 1. The sum of five hundred thousand pesos be taken
from the Excess Income Tax is hereby appropriated as operating funds of the Task
Force on Human Settlements out of any funds in the National Treasury not
otherwise appropriated.

SEC. 2. This Decree shall take effect immediately.

Done in the City of Manila, this 19th day of September, in the year of Our
Lord, nineteen hundred and seventy-three.
