REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9364, December 15, 2006
AN ACT AMENDING SECTIONS 10 AND 53 OF REPUBLIC ACT NO. 8223, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF MARIKINA
SECTION 1. Section 10 of Republic Act No. 8223, otherwise known as the Charter of the City of Marikina is hereby amended to read as follows:

SEC. 2. Section 53 of the Republic Act No. 8223, otherwise known as the Charter of the City of Marikina is hereby amended to read as follows:
“SEC. 53. Legislative Districts. – Being highly-urbanized, the City of Marikina shall have two legislative districts to commence at the next national elections to be held after the effectivity of this Act. Henceforth, barangays Sto. Niño, Malanday, Sta.Elena, San Roque, Calumpang, Tañong, Barangka, Industrial Valley Complex and Jesus de la Peña shall compose the First District while barangays Nangka, Parang, Concepcion Uno, Concepcion Dos and Marikina Heights shall compose the Second District.”
SEC. 3. All laws, executive orders, rules and regulations inconsistent with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed, amended or modified accordingly.
SEC. 4. This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in at least two newspapers of general circulation.
