PROCLAMATION NO. 1474, March 13, 2008
DECLARING THE PERIOD APRIL 21 TO 27, 2008 AS “HOG FARMERS WEEK”
WHEREAS, it is necessary to focus attention on the role the hog-farming sector plays in accelerating the development of the livestock industry;
WHEREAS, there is an imperative need to rechannel the hog farmers’ energies towards excellence in production and animal health to become most vital in the daily food chain responsible for the Filipino consumers’ pork requirements; and
WHEREAS, NFHFI believes in being self-directed and empowered to instill in all its members and actualize the goals of the present administration’s food security program.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period April 21 to 27, 2008 as “Hog Farmers Week”.
