PROCLAMATION NO. 1293, June 10, 2026
DECLARING MONDAY, 15 JUNE 2026, A SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE CITY OF ANGELES
WHEREAS, the volcanic eruption of Mt. Pinatubo on 15 June 1991, the second-largest volcanic eruption in the 20th century, caused unprecedented devastation and destruction in Angeles City and other parts of Pampanga;
WHEREAS, to enable Angeleños to commemorate the anniversary of the Mt. Pinatubo eruption and look back on how they rose from this adversity, the Office of the Mayor requested that 15 June 2026 be declared a special (non-working) day in the City of Angeles;
WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Angeles be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion;
NOW, THEREFOR, I, RALPH G. RECTO, Acting Executive Secretary, by authority of the President, FERDINAND R. MARCOS, JR., do hereby declare Monday, 15 June 2026, a special (non-working) day in the City of Angeles.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
