DECLARING SATURDAY, AUGUST 19, 1950, A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN QUEZON PROVINCE AND QUEZON CITY.

Presidential Proclamations July 29, 1950



WHEREAS, the seventy-second anniversary of the
birth of the late President Manuel L. Quezon falls on August 19, 1950; and

WHEREAS, the people of Quezon Province and Quezon
City desire to be afforded a special opportunity to celebrate his birthday
anniversary with a view to giving a tangible expression of their gratitude for
his patriotic service to the cause of Philippine freedom;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Elpidio Quirino, President of
the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by Section 30 of the
Revised Administrative Code, do hereby declare Saturday, August, 19, 1950, as a
special public holiday in Quezon Province and Quezon City.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand
and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 29th day of
July, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and fifty, and of the
Independence of the Philippines, the fifth.
