PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 1925, May 26, 1984
AMENDING SECTION 14c OF PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NUMBER 1184 OTHERWISE KNOWN AS “THE INTEGRATED NATIONAL POLICE PERSONNEL PROFESSIONALIZATION LAW OF 1977.”
WHEREAS, Presidential Decree No. 1184 provides among others,
the ranks for officers of the Integrated National Police which shall be up to
Police Brigadier General and Fire Brigadier General;
WHEREAS, the Integrated National Police is now composed of
more than 55,000 officers, non-officers, and civilians technical personnel;
WHEREAS, police organizations in other countries provide for
a higher rank than Brigadier General;
WHEREAS, considering the strength of the Integrated National
Police and the vital role it plays in the enforcement of the law and the
maintenance of peace and order it becomes necessary that the organization must
have officers holding the rank higher than that now provided by law.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the
Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the
Constitution, do hereby order and decree:
SECTION 1. Section 14c of Presidential Decree No. 1184 is
hereby amended to read as follows:
“SEC. 14. Appointing Authorities.—The members of of
the Integrated National Police shall be appointed as indicated
below:

“c. Officers from the rank of Police Brigadier General to Police Major
General and Fire Brigadier General to Fire Major General shall be appointed by
the President as recommended by the Director General thru the Minister of
National Defense.”
SEC. 2. This Decree shall take effect immediately.
Done in the City of Manila, this 26th day of May, in the year of our Lord
nineteen hundred and eighty-four.
